Women at Zenith
Project type
Women at Zenith
Date
June 2024
Location
Kirkstall, Leeds
Role
Consultation, Design, Facilitation
I consulted with Zenith Motorvehicles on their Women in Zenith event. Following discussions with the team I designed a playful, interactive activity to facilitate candid discussions about gender experiences in the workplace, encouraging allyship across all genders while avoiding a corporate feel. I conceptualised the “decorate your glasses” activity as a creative metaphor for the diverse lenses through which individuals view workplace situations.
This activity guided participants of all genders through “conversation stations,” where they explored themes like imposter syndrome, work-life balance, and self-confidence. Each station offered hands-on creative prompts such as writing personal strengths inside the glasses, decorating the outside with materials representing personal responsibilities, and exchanging glasses to experience another’s perspective. I also incorporated a Polaroid station for participants to document their reflections visually.
Qualitative data was collected through written notes on paper rolls, facilitated listening, and verbal feedback, providing rich insights into participants' experiences. The event concluded with attendees making personal pledges based on their learning and a follow-up initiative to encourage post-event networking and continued dialogue.
The lasting visual outputs, including decorated glasses and event photos, served as ongoing prompts for future conversations and community building.
